Mentoring & Tutoring
The idea behind MentorJr. is simple. Bright, motivated sixth form students who value eduction and want to give back to their communities volunteer their time offering primary school children free educational support and mentoring. At Mentor Jr, we want to make tutoring more accessible and work towards levelling out the educational playing field.
"Mentor Jr has benefited me hugely in a number of different ways. Not only have I been able to develop my organisation and communication skills, but I have come to appreciate the way in which children learn and interact with others. I have really enjoyed working with these children and forming close bonds with them. Not only was I focused on helping them academically, but I was also there to give them advice and provide them with emotional support. I am really appreciative of my time mentoring."
Carolina, Y12 Mentor
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience of tutoring. I got to know some great primary school students, and it was so rewarding seeing them improve. There were challenges, such as finding a way to explain certain concepts in language that the student understood, but I found meeting these challenges fun in themselves. The students have so much potential and that is obvious when you challenge them, I hope to tutor some more in the future.”

“It’s so wonderful to give our children some one-on-one attention, it’s really helped build their confidence and improve their knowledge”
